On November 1st Capitol Records will be releasing the Smile Sessions Box Set! (October 31st international release) This is a promo video of everything that will be included in the box set. Consider this a pre-oder =D
WOW! Finally, I've been waiting since I was 16yrs old. Thought I'd have to make due with the decent "re-make" from a few years ago, and the many bootleg versions around. With so many false attempts over the years, maybe I should wait & celebrate when I actually have the box in my hands!! Thanks for the link and info. I'll start saving up my $170.00 now.
Definitely gonna buy it - if I can afford it in November. There's a new Phil Spector box set coming out later this year as well. Oh my, I need m-m-money!
Since buying the collection's edition boxed set of The Smile Sessions last month, I haven't been able to get it out of my mind. A month of trying to grapple with the historical significance of this (and its relationship to the music--pop, classical, jazz, and otherwise--of then as well as the music of now) and over 7500 words later, we published this on NewMusicBox: http://www.newmusicbox.org/articles/sounds-heard-the-beach-boys-the-smile-sessions/

You got the Heroes And Villains, and Good Vibrations mp3's that were released today? I'm thinking about throwing them up on my blog.

um...have you heard the 4 album leaks/releases yet? they are: heroes and villains, cabin essence, wonderful and good vibrations
some guy:
They don't count as leaks when they are officially released. They are just releases.

gullywasher: wasn't sure whether they were leaks or releases, but yeah, I know the difference

Actually, I leaked them, then Capitol released them, and I found that like too :p

all the above links are very DEAD.
Again, I have to rebuild my server. I haven't had the time to do it yet. I apologize.
