In The Beginning: The Garage Tapes

This bootleg features some early recording sessions for Gary Usher in which The Beach Boys sang background vocals. It's pretty interesting to hear the boys in the studio before they had ever recorded anything of their own.

It also features the tapes a teenage Brian Wilson recorded in his Hawthorne, CA home of him and his young brothers (with friends, family and neighbors) practicing early material before the Beach Boys were ever formed. Also included are some silly skits and recordings of things like Brian and friend Keith Lent practicing Spanish.

Wow, never knew this existed. I can't wait to hear it! I think the Happy b-day Four Freshmen track was on the BB box set. It's got this ethereal sound that fascinates me. It's partly the singing, and also the old, lo-fi recording.

wow dude, thanks a bunch, I was reading about this one on beachboys.com. The first part of disc 1 has been removed...do you think you can reupload it? Awesome though man, thanks!

it took just a couple days for this link to disappear.

Mediafire is proving to be more trouble than it is worth.

I'll reupload them as soon as I can. I just moved, so I need some time to settle into my apartment.
