Van Dyke Parks - Song Cycle

EDIT: I just found out this album is available to purchase from Rykodisc Records. If you enjoyed it, please purchase it from Amazon.com.

Van Dyke Parks, the lyricist for the Smile album completed his first solo album in 1968. It's very genius and cinematic, and quite a collector's item too. Download it below!

I found this album on cassette for A BUCK a couple of months ago. I've only listened to it a couple of times, but it sounded pretty great. Thank you for posting this album. It saved me all the fuss of having to transfer my tape of it to digital format.

This is a great album, but it is commercially available on Rykodisc, so I think you should remove it. I'm all for bootlegs, but I think if recordings are available to buy legitimately, then they don't belong here.

Blending classical with VDP's crazy lyrics...I never knew his ability to write music. Only known him for SMiLE....well, after listening to this, Orange Crate Art is next on my list.

This album is available off Amazon for a small sum - definitely support Van Dyke Parks as he is still up and about creating great music.
