Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share a documentary from 2013 by Richard Driscoll that I just discovered. This one lacks a narrator and mostly borrows from other sources, but there are a few pieces of footage in here I had never heard before.
Like you, I have been far away from anything Beach Boys for a number of years.. After finishing remixing all the albums that weren't available in stereo into true stereo around 2008, I got complete burnout, plus other issues referring to my mixes seemed to annoy other people who also were attempting the same. After seeing my mix of good vibrations was snubbed for a much worse one for inclusion on the new cds I basically threw in the towel. Besides, I rather liked many of the new stereo mixes, and once today, summer days and smiley smile were released in true stereo, I was told there was NO possibility that wild honey would ever be reissued in true stereo, as most of the songs had no usable stereo masters. That was by a totally connected insider, the ones that actually worked on the previous remasters. So I never bothered checking, for the last 7 years. Imagine my surprise to find ot that Wild Honey, the entire album, is now true stereo, a feat that we were all told was IMPOSSIBLE! Just saying... go figure, eh?
