  3. Hi Warnakey,

Thanks a lot for having removed my version of In My Room. Some people have complained about the fact that I couldn't provide a "reason" for that removing - I still can't, because of things that are not under my control. Anyway, thanks. And I've got a new Beach Boys blog! Check it out: http://pearl-nazi-music.blogspot.com.

(please note that the layout of the blog and my username are intended to be humorous and "distinctive", and do NOT depict my political beliefs)

  5. Hi Warnakey,

Nice... I've been wanting to hear this version for a while. Supposedly the Cadillac of Smiles. Thanks again.

  6. Hi Warnakey,

I wasn't angry with you - I was just a little pissed off because my mix (that was on Casio's blog) had found its way on your blog. Normally there wouldn't be anything wrong with that, but Casio's blog closed for a reason and because of that reason my mix wasn't supposed to be shared anymore. But now that you've removed the link it's ok!

  8. Might be a nice mix, but what a bad sound quality. 32kbps mono is useless. Erased the files immediately. Can you please provide a better quality?

  9. I can't get it to play on ANY of my media players. I get a message that says "WaveOut format not supported."

  10. This absolutely IS the Cadillac of Smile mixes, but it's presented in A Model T format! I was lucky enough to dowload it from the notorious Hans Zun a while back, and for me it is the Smile I play to people who've never heard about it. It's a stunning (re)construction that I prefer (by far) to BWPS. What a shame it's not done justice at this low rate!

  13. Speaking of better quality, could someone perhaps upload this in the original .flac format?

  15. Well, I could, but this would take a long time (my internet connection is quite slow)... I'll do it if other people are interested!

P.S. But honestly, the download available on my blog (flac to hi-quality 160k mp3) is enough... I can't hear the difference, even though I usually am a fan of lossless formats.

  16. Well I'd be very grateful; thank you!

  17. I'll try to do it next week then! ;)

  18. Should you be kind enough to upload it, if you choose to use SendSpace could you split the post into 100MB chunks? See the reason I'm asking this is because I've no internet connection at home (I'm a poor bastard)and thus obliged to use public internet services (university, libraries etc.) Otherwise there'd be no problem for me to download it using a torrent feed or something... Well anyway, as I usually have 1 hour max.time to do downloads, Sendspace downloads that are more than 100MB are impossible since Sendspace is so slow... at least that is what I've experienced... You're not into using RapidShare or MegaUpload?
Anyway, thanks for expressing interest for doing this favour & I bet I might not be the only grateful one.

  19. I'm familiar with Rapidshare and Megaupload, so I'll try to upload the files on them (probably Rapidshare)

  20. Thanks, I really do appreciate this! Not to forget that your current posts (Unsurpassed Masters series) have been really wonderful as well; same goes for warnakey!

  21. I must be the only person that's distinctly unimpressed by this. It's a horrible bastardisation of Smile, with bits from the original recordings, Smiley Smile and BWPS all edited together (and many times not very well, IMHO). Sure the quality (in .flac) is very good, but this isn't a version that I'd want to listen to for anything other than curiosity's sake.

  22. cheers for linking to the FLAC version :)

  23. Tim's right. And Tim's wrong. It's all about what you're looking for.

If you're looking for an 'authentic' Beach Boys Smile, then this definitely isn't it. It's not meant to be.

But if you're looking for the closest thing to a Beach Boys version of BWPS then I haven't heard anything better.
